Outlook Encountered an Error and has to Close

Every time I try to open Outlook 2003 (running on Windows xp Media Center
Edition) it opens for a few seconds and then just shuts down. It just started
about 3 days ago, but worked fine prior to that. The Outlook icon stays open
in the start menu until I mouse over it and it disappears. I get a window
that pops up stating "Microsoft Office Outlook has encountered a problem and
needs to close." I have installed Microsoft updates that were recommended as
well as run a complete virus scan. This is getting very frustrating so any
help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the exact same problem, started a couple of days ago. Am using
Windows XP Pro. I have done everything to scrub and rescrub the
computer. Have also tried repairing the program through the "Add/
Delete" in the control panel; removing the program and reinstalling;
isolating it from the network connections and just about everything
else. (Several times!) All updates have been installed. Have also
tried "The Restore" function--and for some reason, I am unable to
restore to early checkpoints.

Are you using CloudMark by chance? If so, visit their web site for a fix.

Thank you Brian!! I've been struggling with this Outlook problem for the
last 3 days and was tearing my hair out! I removed Cloudmark and it works
now. Yeah!
