Outlook hangs when hyperlink is clicked or merely moused over

I scanned recent subjects and didn't see anything that looked relevant, so I
apologize if this repeats something that's been asked 1000 times.

I was using Office 2000 and recently (6 weeks ago?) upgraded to Office 2003,
which upgraded me to Outlook 2003, as well. Although I like 2003 much
better, 2000 never hung when I clicked on hyperlinks within the text of an
email.

What's happening now is:

1. Someone sends me an email with a hyperlink in it. I either open the
email or it displays in a preview pane (depending on the folder).
2. SOMETIMES, when I click on the hyperlink to open the browser, Outlook
freezes and I eventually have to shut it down using Task Manager.
3. SOMETIMES, merely mousing over the hyperlink to see where it points
causes the same behavior, although less often.
4. SOMETIMES, clicking the hyperlink doesn't cause a freeze, but this is
less often than it DOES cause a freeze.
5. OCCASIONALLY, the act of copying the link so I can open a browser and
paste it manually in the address bar causes Outlook to freeze. (Similar to
#3, but less frequent.)

This is a problem since the system we are using here at work to keep track
of open tasks and projects is browser-based (TeamTrack), and when I'm
assigned a new project, I get a hyperlink that opens the browser with the
correct project displayed.

Someone gave me a printout of a white paper from MS that supposedly deals
with this very topic, but I can't find the printout and I don't remember who
sent it to me. I did what it said (it involved re-registering a bunch of
..dlls), though, and it had no effect.

If someone has some suggestions, please let me know (including a link to the
white page I mentioned). I'm about ready to rip 2003 off this machine and
go back to using 2000...except that all my .pst files are now in 2003
format. :(

I'm on a Windows 2003 Server (Standard Edition), latest upgrades applied
twice weekly. The computer is a 3GHz Peinum 4 with 1Gb RAM.

I did not get a response, no. I just assumed I'm the only one with this
problem and have learned to live with having to restart Outlook 3 or 4 times
daily. :)
