Outlook hanging when attaching a file.

Hi

I'm having a problem with Outlook 2003, WinXP using IMAP.

Emails without an attachment can be sent without any problems. However, as
soon as the user clicks for an attachment and the window opens to allow
browsing to the folder that contains the document to be attached, Outlook
stops responding.

The title bar of the browsing windows says 'Outlook: Not Responding' and the
hour glass is displayed. After a considerable time it may clear, but really
the only thing to do is to close the browsing window using Task Manager.

Anybody got any ideas what the problem might be?

Many thanks.

Do you have any mapped but disconnected network drives?

Hi Brian,

First of all, thanks for taking the time to reply.

Yes, there are networked drives which are accessed using Novell. Although
the drives were shown using My Computer each drive was marked as
'Unconnected'. Once the network drives were sorted out, the Outlook problem
had gone.

Many thanks.
