Outlook 2007 long delay when attaching a file

Hi group,
I have a long delay (about a minute) when attaching a file. Outlook freezes
for a minute before Browse for a file dialog appears.

Configuration:
Windows 7 x64
BitLocker is enabled
Domain joined computer

Outlook 2007 SP2
Outlook uses Exchange Server 2007

Any ideas?

Do you have mapped drives? That will add a delay.

Yes, I have mapped drives.
But other users also has mapped drives and Outlook attaches files without
delay.

Do you have mapped drives? That will add a delay.

And I have tried with disconnected mapped drives - the same long delay.

Do you have mapped drives? That will add a delay.

Is the delay to find the file or after you selected the file to attach? Is
the file on a local or networked drive?

Same delay if you start Outlook in its safe mode ("outlook.exe /safe") which
doesn't load any enabled add-ons that you installed to Outlook?

You mention that other hosts don't experience the delay. Do they also have
BitLocker enabled (which is full-drive encryption which means the files have
to get decrypted on-the-fly to use them and which incurs delay)?
