Outlook freezes

When I start to send an e-mail in Outlook it says "starting word as your word
editor" and then it freezes. I can read incoming e-mails but cannot respond
or type in a new message. I have tried turning the computer off and on but
nothing seems to work. Please help.
 
Is Word the same version as Outlook? Versions must be the same. What happens
when you do not use Word as editor?
 
I'm not sure what you mean. I have always been able to send e-mails before
and just this afternoon it stopped working. Oh, I use Office usually. Maybe
I need to change that somehow.
