Outlook "Freezes" when trying to Insert files

My Outlook 2003 freezes when I try and open up files to attach to my emails.
If I wait for about 2 minutes, it eventually starts to work again. As you
can imagine it really is a big hassle. Does anybody have the same problem?
If so, how did it get repaired?
 
No, my system is a stand alone....I don't know if this is a McAfee update
problem, but shortly after downloading an up-grade, I started to experience
this problem....
 
Sorry for the delay, I've been home sick and not checking the forums. What
type of upgrade did you do; Windows or McAfee?
 
It was a McAfee update

I also up graded to the latest Explorer 7 in hopes that would clear up the
problem but it did not. I only have the problem when I am trying to attach
files to my email messages...if you want to contact me directly, my email
