I upgraded to the new office 2007 beta last night. I was using office 2003
before. When I look in the folder that holds all of the office files there
are alot of files in there that are not associated with a program what I mean
is they have the little flap in the upper right corner. these files are
pdndex.oab, rdndex.oab, spscoll.dat,uanrdex.oab, udetails.oab,personal
folders(1).pst.tmp, and this one839coe2af2a3da45989c556d1cb23c33.mlog. , when
I click properties for all of these files it says opens with Unknown
application. I believe something happend when I upgraded. For I have
something wrong with the Unread messages in outlook. When I first opened the
program it downloaded all my email again. and it showed I had like 450 files
unread and all was fine. I then Highlighted all the emails and right clicked.
And clicked on mark all as read. after I did that all the files disappeared.
and now next to the unread mail it says (4294966706) like I have that many
unread messages. however it only shows two. and they are IPM.Note the from
on the first one is just a bunch of jibberish, as well as the to, the second
one is fine but it will not open, when I click on it a dialog appears that
says "cannot open this item. the message you specified cannot be found." I
tried to delete it but it wont let me. so what happend to all the unread
messages that were there before this problem, and why does it now show I have
(4294966706) yet there are only three in the folder. Can any of the MVP's
help with this. This may be a bug that has yet to be discovered and may need
to be reported to the Beta team. I know they offer no support for the beta
which I think is ashame. for how the purpose of beta is to try the programm
and get feedback which helps them make the end product better. I am a big fan
of microsoft and hope to continue.
