outlook express

When ever I receive e-mail through outlook express with a attachment whose
extension is .PPS. I cannot open the attachment, the message error is " This
file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action.
Create an association in the folder options control panel. I tried this and
the only option I had was PPS.server class server, and this did not work.
Can some one help me?

As Patti said, you need to install the viewer (if you don't have PowerPoint installed) first. Also, there is a known issue about opening ..PPS attachments directly from Outlook Express. See here for a fix.

Unable to open .PPS attachments directly from Outlook Express?

Patty I downloaded the power point file you mentioned and installed it, but I
was not able to open the attachment on outlook express. Then I followed
Ramesh information in which he said that there was a problem with tryng to
open a PPS file directly from outlook express and that I should apply a fix
and guess what now it work. Thanks to both of you.
My last question is does this apply to me.
"To specify a download install location (for network administrators):
On the Start menu, click Run, and type command.
Navigate to the path of the installed PPViewer.exe program.
Type ppviewer.exe /c:“msiexec /i ppviewer.msi INSTALLLOCATION=c:\targetâ€
where c:\target is the installation directory.
Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation."
I'm not part of a network.
That is it again thanks for your help.

Thanks for that additional info. I was unaware of that issue, probably
because I had not yet encountered it.

You're welcome :)

No, the "To specify a download install location (for network
administrators)" would not apply to you.
