outlook express will not delete emails

It gets stuck, will not respond and I have to shut down every time. What do
I do? How can I re-install Outlook to maybe fix the problem
 
How are you deleting ... many at a time, one at a time?

Is your Delete Folder in OE full?
How much is in the folder you are trying to delete from?
How much disk space is available to delete e-mail?
When did you Compact Folders in OE last?
