Outlook Express versus AIM messenger

Okay, another bug in the rug, anybody know of a trick to
stop the following?

On my new PC when I boot up Outlook Express the AOL
Instant Messenger boots up, this also delays the OE from
coming up. And so I tried opening Messenger first, and to
no avail, OE still takes quite some time to boot up.

Okay, OE View>Layout>Contacts (disable or live with it).

that sounds like a function of antivirus checker..
i had same problem taking extra 30 seconds to open until I changed the
settings.

that's cos you also had oe configured to send/receive on startup and/or to
open to your hotmail inbox.
