OUTLOOK EXPRESS SPELL CHECK

How come I can't get the spell check to function on my
new Dell laptop which came with Outlook Express
installed. The button or icon for "Spelling" is dimmed
and no amount of "clocking" will get it to come on and
check the spelling in the e-mail messages I compose. The
Dll tech support told me that I need to get an update
from Microsoft and that it should be a freebie. But I
can't determine which update I should install. JBW

Outlook Express has never included a spell checker. It will use third party
spell checkers and the one included with Microsoft Office.

After you download it, use the Start, Run line to point to where you
downloaded it, to activate it.

This is one option. There are others, such as installing
a word processing program, as I understand it.
