Win2Kpro,sp4 IE6... When Outlook Express is started the
"LocalFolders-Outlook-Express-name" page appears with all bars and
buttons gray; password fails, then ctl-alt-del must be used to remove
the page... I tried unsuccessfuly to uninstall IE6, but could only run
the repair feature, which did not fix the problem....

Ask them in one of the OE groups.

I would try here.

Use method 2 and set the Reg_Dword values of "IsInstalled" to 0, boot the
box , then you can reinstall IE6 /OE6 (the article says for Windows XP, but
I've used this procedure successfully on Windows 2000)

:
| I can't find any MS-OE groups..
|
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=...ws.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress.stationery
| The above group is not very active..
| Would you have a link to a good OE Group??
|
| Since OE comes with Windows 2000, is there a way to reinstall just OE??
| I have tried 'Win2K Repairs' with no success..
|
| Any other ideas??

I tried the reinstallation but OE still "hung"..

(KB 245419) Deletion of HKU username keys solved the problem..

Thanks for your suggestions,

Willard :)
