and go to send another my OE freezes I click CTRL=ALT=DEL it shows it NOT
RESPONDING I have to close down and re-open - also sometimes if I click on
Inbox all emails disappear but if I click on another folder then back on
Inbox they all reappear - strange I know but can anyone help please? - I am

Sometimes I find that by doing a System Restore I can cure some software
glitches. I think some corruption interferes with the program and doing a
System Restore gets rid of it.

Try compacting all OE folders. See
http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm#compact

General OE Caveats:

- Don't use Inbox or Sent Items to archive messages. Move them to local
folders created for this purpose.

- Empty Deleted Items folder daily.

- Disable Background Compacting [N/A in WinXP SP2 and Win2K03] and
frequently perform a manual compact of all OE folders while "working
offline". More at http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm.

- Do not attempt to close OE via Task Manager or shutdown your machine if
Automatic Compacting is taking place (WinXP SP2 & Win2K03 only).

- Your anti-virus application's email scanning feature can also cause
corruption. Disable it. It provides no additional protection.
