OutLook Express Default Setting?

When my windows on a laptop opens, I always get the message to set OutLook
Express as my default email. I click OK and the message goes away. Then
everything is normal. OE is the only email program on the computer or ever
has been, everything in the settings shows OE as the default. OE works
sending and receiving as it should. Nothing is array, except getting this
nagging "set OE as your email default" message. How can I get rid of it? I
can not find anything to change.
