OUTLOOK EXPRESS 6 PROBLEM

I am posting in this newgroup since I could not locate the
Outlook Express newsgroup. Outlook Express places an
unknown file (a file with squiggly lines) on my desktop. I
want to know what is causing OUTLOOK EXPRESS to put this
unknown file on my desktop? Kim Komando recently addressed
this issue on her radio show. However I could not locate
the article on her web page. She has a poor search
engine.I recently installed Spam Inspector by Giant
software. Giant software tech support does not believe a
link between their software and this problem.what can I do?
Help!!!!

It is a bug in a recent OE update. It happens when any changes are made to
your address book. It's the backup nf the Address Book that should have
been named *.wa~ and placed in the same Windows folder as your *.wab Address
Book file.

You can move it, delete it, ignore it, hide it or rename it.

There is no fix and creating a new Identity will not make the problem go
away.

Rename your ~ file to, say, JoeL.wab and you'll see it's a backup of your
Identity's Address Book. Let it be, if you want, for safety's sake or
delete it whenever you see it if its presence disturbs you.

We're all awaiting a fix for this harmless bug in Q330994.[/QUOTE]
