Outlook Express 6 Error Message

Your help will be greatly appreciated.
When I try to send a very simple, short E-mail with Outlook Express 6,
Windows XP, on Comcast High Speed Cable Internet,

I always get an Outlook Express dialogue box -- that states:
Some errors occurred while processing the requested tasks.
Please review the list of errors below for more details.
-- the message area is always empty --
0 of 1 tasks have completed successfully.
My E-mail is sent to my Outbox.

I was only running my Outlook Express 6, no other programs were running.
I restarted my computer serveral times.
I deleted a lot of E-mails.
I compacted my folder two times.
I ran McAfee Virus Scan -- no infected files found.
I restarted my computer several more times.

The Problem continues to persist.
Please help.
Thank You in advance for your help,

Thank You in advance for your help,

You should post this in an OE NG.

I suspect your SMTP settings are incorrect so the failed sends are
stored in the Outbox. Your ISP's home page should have a support page
that will show the correct outgoing mail settings. A couple of examples
server settings might be:

POP3
mail.bellsouth.net

SMTP
mail.bellsouth.net

or

POP3
pop.vacantlot.com

SMTP
smtp.vacantlot.com

My POP3 setting for Incoming Mail is correct: MAIL.COMCAST.NET
My SMTP setting for Outgoing Mail is correct: SMTP.COMCAST.NET

I followed your suggestion and
I posted this problem on Outlook Express News Groups

What additional steps should I try?

Thank You, Joe, for responding to my request.

The Comcast FAQ did mention an article where they block email from you,
but it showed a different error message. If that doesn't apply, you
might try contacting Comcast support. Otherwise, other Send issues
would probably be known in the OE NG.

The OE setup FAQ mentions that you need to "Place a check in the My
server requires authentication option".
There are also port settings, etc..
