Outlook.exe.mdmp and appcompat.txt

I have had this lingering problem with Outlook 2003 running on a Windows XP
Pro machine. My outlook.pst file is approx 640MB, well under the limit.
However I have it configured to send/receive from 6 POP3 accounts. Over the
past two months, I have gotten this error and it really slows and crashes my
Outlook. Here is the following message I get when their is no response from
Outlook

szAppName : OUTLOOK.EXE szAppVer : 11.0.8000.0 szModName : hungapp

szModVer : 0.0.0.0 offset : 00000000

C:\DOCUME~1\Braitz\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER912f.dir00\OUTLOOK.EXE.mdmp
C:\DOCUME~1\Braitz\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER912f.dir00\appcompat.txt

A Microsoft MVP told me to run scanpst.exe which I initially did, and that
fixed the problem the first time. However, if it hangs, I rerun scanpst.exe
and no errors are ever found. This is really driving me nuts and I don't
know what to do. Sometimes I can click between emails and it's fine, and
other times I click on one email and the whole thing locks up. Any help is
appreciated and my thanks in advance.

I found another posting where a microsoft MVP tells you the steps to operate
outlook in safe mode, disable add-ins, and clean the cache.....that hasn't
worked EXCEPT that moving in between some of the email msgs seems faster,
however it still hangs when doing POP3 send/receive. thanks

Are you running virusscanner that integrates with Outlook? Disable this
integration and try again.

I disabled NAV incoming and outgoing (I've always disabled Outgoing) email.
It does hang up during the send/receive process. When I clicked on the
details, it always hangs on the 10% mark, which in order I think it looks
something like this

sending popaccount 1 completed
receiving popaccount 2 processing (this stage that is hanging)

It's been working most of the morning. I did go into my SENT folders to check

I have found another culprit to the locking up.....

anytime I click on an email with an image embedded it locks up. Also,
anytime I try to send a document with either a .doc or .xls it crashes too.

Roady,

I've done a few more things...

I've deinstalled Outlook and reinstalled. That seemed to work for about an
hour. Then someone sent an email with a picture on it and it crapped out all
over again.

PLEEESE HELP.....can I at least put my .pst file on the web so you can
download and see if there is something else wrong with the .pst...something
that a scanpst.exe won't find.

Hi Brad,

Have you tried resetting your send/receive settings already?
Locate your srs-file for your profile and rename it to .old

If that doesn't work; Have you tried creating a new mail profile already?
http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/newprofile.htm

Do things work correctly when you only configure only one POP3 account? Add
your accounts untill you get the crashes again (or hopefully not!). It could
be a culprit account. Do you have Outlook confgured to leave the messages on
the server or not?

Was the picture an attachment or an embedded picture?
What add-ins do you have listed in Tools-> Options-> tab Other-> button
Advanced Options...-> button COM Add-Ins/Add-In Manager...

Loads of questions I know, just trying to get to know your configuration.

You can reply to mail if you want because it's getting really hard to find
this threat ;-)
