Outlook won't Launch completely

When attempting to launch outlook, all I get is the logo window and then it
disappears and nothing...ctrl,alt., del shows running app but there is no
visible app running...this just started. I use xp and 2007 version of Office
Pro. I need help with explicit instructions because I am a novice at repair
of software problems...the error message received when diagnosis is run is
the following...

does word or excel open? if so, go to the office orb (formerly the File
menu), options button at the bottom of the menu. Resource link on the left,
office diagnostics button (2nd button).
