Outlook doesn't remember window size...

Hello,
we have the problem that outlook doesn't remember the window size.
If I want to write a new mail the 'new mail' window opens very very small
(but not miminized). If I change the size of this window like I want and
close the window next it opens as I closed it. -> this is what it should be.
But when I close outlook and reopen it, the 'new email' window is again
small.

Outlook 2003, SP3 (with Exchange 2003 Server)
No macros activated
Word is not used as mail editor.
The problem exists on 2 of 15 computers.

I tried to close the window and even outlook with ctrl and shift key - but
the problem still exists.

Thanks for your reply

Sven

The usual fix is at http://www.slipstick.com/emo/2008/up080703.htm#4

If its not working, close outlook then delete the frame key from
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Message\ and restart outlook.
This will reset the window to the default size.

Shouldn't that be HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Message\, since
the OP mentioned Outlook 2003?

I tried your solution.
If I delete the registry Key Outlook writes a new key with correct values
while working in Outlook.
Each time I close Outlook, Outlook resets the values to others values so
that the problem still exists on reopening outlook.

I have no idea which parameter resets the values on closing outlook...
A solution would be do delete the registry value before opening outlook but
I think there must be an other solution.

thanks again for your help.

Is outlook closing completely? Check in task manager, processes tab. look
for Outlook.exe.
If you delete the key before opening outlook, does it work correctly?
Are you using roaming profiles?

Hello,
sorry for my delay.
Yes Outlook closes completly - no outlook.exe any more in taskmanager.
Roaming profiles: yes and no: we have the problem on two different
machines - one with roaming profile the other not. The user always has local
administrator rights.

If I delete the registry and then start outlook everything is ok. The
registry value is added when starting outlook with a new message. The values
match the values on machines that do not have the problem.
When I work in outlook everything seems all right but when I close outlook
the values in registry are overwritten with other values. On restarting
outlook the window is too small.
The problem exists even if I start outlook in safemode with no plugin or
addon.

Thanks again for your answer.
