Outlook does not send and recieve properly

J

justengland

I have multiple accounts I need to check on my work email.

1. my work account exchange server
2. my gmail account pop3 server

When I hit send and recieve it work flawlessly, so I know my accounts
are set up. However if I donot hit send and recieve it automatically
recieves my exchange account but not my pop3 account. Is there
something else that I need to do or what.

When you're connected to an Exchange Server, Outlook responds to
notifications from the server. However, for other E-mail accounts, the
servers wait for Outlook.

Go to "Tools", "Send/Receive Settings", "Define Send/Receive Groups" (or go
to "Tools", "Options", "Mail Setup", and click on the "Send/Receive"
button). In the resulting "Send/Receive Groups" dialogue box, put a check
mark in the "Schedule and automatic send/receive every" check box, and set
the pulldown list for the number of minutes between executions. You may need
to set both the online and offline schedules.

Mike;
Below is an email from one of my users. He has OL 2003 client. he's one of
the few that have to press Send/Recieve button to get new email. I went thru
his OL setup and it was identical to mine. I even set 2 minutes in "Schedule
and automatic send/receive every" check box. I also uncheck the "Use Cache
Exchange Mode" to force OL client to always connect to the Exchange server.
Email from my user:
I still have to hit the send receive button to get my e-mails. I just
opened up my computer on Sat at 807am and the most >current e-mail was from
Friday at 635PM

You mention that OL responds to notification from a connected Exchange
server. How do we verify this to ensure that an OL client is communicating
properly with Exchangeserver 2003?

Thanks
Bill
