outlook deleting online email not syncing

I have set outlook 2000 upto access my on line email however it moves
everything from my web based email inbox to my outlook but doesnt leave a
copy on the webbased email and so when I go onto the my email account all the
emails have gone.

How can I return all the emails from outlook and also stop outlook from
transferring the mail rather than syncronising with it.

Any help gladly received.

depends. if it's GMail then just set it up as IMAP and move them back.
If it's not GMail (and I don't know whether any other web-based email allow
IMAP access) then your only option is to re-send them to yourself...

Control Panel-Mail-Email Accounts. Highlight the account, click on
"change", go to More settings, click on Advanced.

It's Outlook 2000, so it depends on the mode; either IMO or CW. However, in
neither mode does what you describe exist when using Outlook 2000.

The settings can be found either on Tools>Accounts (the Advanced tab of the
account properties) or Tools>Services>Internet E-mail (I think - it's been a
while). Again, the Properties of the account will have an Advanced tab that
contains the setting.
