Outlook deleted task continues to pop up reminder

I had to run the hot fix for errors in Outlook and since then, one recurring
task continues to opo up. When I try to delete, an error message comes up
indicating the task could not be found. I still see the overdue task in the
To-Do list.

How do I stop this recurring task?

You don't mention either the Hotfix, what initial problems you had, or your
version of Outlook.
Try Outlook Detect/Repair or Diagnostics, and with Outlook closed,
scanpst.exe the repair tool on your data file

The initial problem was an error message (which I do not remember the
details) which told me to run the Outlook Scanpst. After that, the outlook
task was apparently deleted and now continues to pop up every time I start up
outlook or when any other task reminder comes up.

Know I can not find the scanpst progam or where my pst files are???

Thanks

Unfortunately, I have run the progam again and it has not corrected the
problem. The outlook task continues to be visible, the reminder continues to
pop up and when I try to open it, it says the task does not exist.......UGH.

If this happened to me and a Detect and Repair, SCANPST, and the
/cleanreminders command switch didn't remain the problem, I'd just
transition to a new PST. It's simple, although if you have a lot of data in
the PST it might take a bit of time, but I'd find it worth the time
investment.
