Outlook creating attachment to incoming messages

This just started today... Every email I receive has an
attachemnt that is just a .txt version of the real email
message that someone is sending me... I looked at my
settings and I see no options for something like this...
So what is causing this to happen??

Close Outlook and reboot your computer.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, paul asked:

Why would it happen all of a sudden, and to contacts I
have sent/received mail from before?

It is a mystery that I have never been interested enough to research. It
happens when Outlook has been open for a really long time (days or weeks)
without closing or a system reboot.
