Outlook messages received as attachments

Hello there,
I start receiving Outlook messages from some people from other
companies as attachments instead of in the email body and also it
contains a few .gif attachments as well. I am using Outlook 2003. Is
this because of the sending mail client or what else?

Usually, this is a sending issue, but if you use thrd-party tools to scan
incoming mail, it could be a receiving issue as well. Anything wedging itself
between client and server on either end is a potential source of trouble.
