Outlook Crashing

Hello,
Perhaps someone can help? I have Outlook 2007 running on Vista Home Premium
32 bit and I did a full reformatting since my machine was acting bugging. I
have everything reload and it is acting better, but one error seems to still
be occurring: Outlook crashes (then restarts itself) sometimes when I try to
access my sent file. It is the most frustrating error because it is not
consistent. I would guess that it happens once every 15 times I access the
sent folder. Outlook tells me some error occurred, closes, and then
restarts. I am almost always loose 50% of whatever email I was writing.
Very odd. Below is error message in the event log. This is all greek to me.
Help anyone?

Many thanks in advance.

Best Regards,
Mike

There should be an eventID and source for that error.

A "0xC0000374" exception means STATUS_HEAP_CORRUPTION. A "heap" is a
structure which exists temporarily in memory while a program runs. Every
program has one or more heaps. If a heap gets damaged while the program is
running, the program will often crash.

Thanks K,
Any idea what I might do about a "heap" error? Is there any action I can
take so this will not happen anymore?

The message below (same as before) was from my event log (if this is what
you were asking).

Again, many thanks in advance.

Mike

Check your application event viewer, look for Outlook or Office related
errors. Each event should have an EventID and Source. That's what I would be
most interested in. I would first repair the PST while Outlook is closed
though.

Thanks Orland,
I do not have a PST (I dont think)... I believe 2007 only has OSTs,
whichever the case though, mine are all new since I just rebuilt outlook from
scratch and downloaded from our exchange server a all new OST file (I simply
deleted the old one and let exchange build me a new one). This was less than
a week ago so I would be shocked if it had been fractured or corrupted so
quickly. I was a little surprised that there were no PST files.... only OST
files. Is this a new feature in 2007?

I encountered the same error again. I clicked on the sent file and Outlook
closes and then reopens itself. This is the fist time it has done this in 4
days. Much better than the 4 times a day that I had before I rebuilt
everything. The error message is below. I got it from the event viewer as
you requested.

Faulting application OUTLOOK.EXE, version 12.0.6023.5000, time stamp
0x46574050, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6000.16386, time stamp
0x4549bdc9, exception code 0xc0000374, fault offset 0x000af1c9, process id
0xec0, application start time 0x01c7df3d71873d20.

How do I repair a OST or PST (if they do exist) files anyway? I looked in
Outlook and found nada about it. All I see is Office Diagnostics, which does
little to zip for this problem.

HELP PLEASE.

Your continued focus is much appreciated.

Best Regards,
Mike
