Outlook Contacts

I am running Microsoft Outlook 2000 as part of Microsoft Office 2000 & I am
using Windows XP-Home Edition.

I am trying to change my settings such that when I select the "TO" button in
Outlook 2000, it will display information from my Contacts Folder, rather
than Address Book.

When I right-click on the CONTACTS Folder and select PROPERTIES, and then
access the OUTLOOK ADDRESS BOOK tab, it shows CONTACTS as the icon at the
top, but the "show this folder as an e-mail Address Book" message is dimmed
out & although the box is checked, it is also dimmed out.

Similarly, the NAME OF THE ADDRESS BOOK dialog box has CONTACTS shown, but
dimmed out. Thus, whenever I try to press the TO button in Outlook2000 to
address an e-mail, it accesses the ADDRESS BOOK rather than the Contacts
Folder.

I have seen some of the answers provided to a user running Oulook 2002, but
in Oulook 2000 I cannot find the capability to go to "Tools-Email Accounts"
to set up an additional address book.

Help, please.

I do not understand what you are trying to do.
The address book and your Contacts Folder are the same thing. The address
book can only show the contents of your Contacts Folder. It contains no
separate data.

You did not post your mail support mode. From your description, it is
"Internet Mail Only" in which case the Outlook Address Book is installed and
configured by default (that's why the option is ticked and grayed out). You
have no settings to change. Just select the correct folder to display in the
"Show Names from" dropdown in the address book.
