folder in I am using Outook 2007 and my contact folders do not show when I
try to use the "to" in an email. I looked at the properties of my Outlook
folders and when I go to the tab "outlook addres book" the checkbox to show
as an email address book is greyed out.

I would appreiciate your assistance.

Add the Outlook Address Book service to your mail profile via;
Tools->Account Settings...-> tab Address Books

When I did as you suggested, there is already an Outlook address book showing
and Outlook will not allow me to add anothrr one. It shows as MAPI.

I should tell you this is a new installation on a Vista 64 machine in case
that makes any difference.

When you look at the properties of the Address Book service, does it list
any contact folders?
How did you restore your pst-file on the new machine?

Roady,

I did not restore my pst file. I used the Vista utility program "Windows
Easy transfer" to "move" the pst file and other Office 2007 settings.
Likewise when I goto the "to" on a new email then look for the address books
nothing is showing.

If I go to the "address book" tab and see "Outllok Address Book", I then
click on "change" and there is nothing shown under Outlook address books.

Roady,

Thanks you hit it on the head. I created a new profile I no longer have the
problem.

Again, thank you
