Contacts/Address Book

J

Jerry Przybysz

I am using Outlook 2007 on Vista.

My Contacts/Address book does not show any enteries in the e-mail pane. I
do have about 600 displayed when I click on the "Contacts" button. I have
already tried modifying the properties as described in other messages, but
the areas I need to modify are grayed out and not available to modify.

On the General Tab is displayed:

Contacts
Type: Folder Containing Contacts
Location: \\SBC Global Account

When I select the "Outlook Address Book" tab the box for "Show this folder
as an e-mail Address Book is grayed out.

Any help would be very appreciated.

Is "Show this Folder" checked and grayed out or just grayed out?
How did you create this Outlook profile and migrate your data to it?

Hi Russ,

It is grayed out and not checked.

I created a profile on the new laptop - set up my e-mail accounts and
imported my previous Outlook files from a .pst file that I exported from my
desktop computer.

You'll need a new profile since you use outlook 2007 - repairing the address book service doesn't work.

No wonder. You never transfer Outlook data by importing it. You corrupted
your profile. Create a new profile from scratch and transfer your data
correctly: open the PST file.
