Outlook connector killed my email!

Hi folks,

I was installing the latest version of windows live messenger the other day
and it invited me to add outlook connector which I did.

As soon as I installed it, outlook stopped downloading mail from my main
accounts, althought the hotmail accounts seemed to work fine. When I clicked
on Tools/ email accounts, I got the error message

"
The operation failed due to an installation or registry problem. Restart
outlook and try again. If the problem persists, please reinstall. Could not
complete the operation, one or more parameter values are not valid." The
accounts cannot be accessed byu any means, from inside the control panel or
anywhere else.

I uninstalled connector, and then did as I was asked, uninstalled and then
reinstalled office- made no difference- and since have un and reinstalled
several times, getting more draconian at each attempt, deleting all obvious
registry entries and using CC Cleaner to remove all vestages as well as the
office 2003 resource pack cleaner.

I still have the same problem, outlook starts, the connector folders for my
hotmail accounts are there, the original email accounts are either gone or
disabled by whatever has caused this and no mail downloads and I still get
the same error message when I try to access the account details

I've seen the same issue noted on other forums, but I can't seem to find a
posted solution. Can anyone help- it's driving me nuts!!!

Please, anyone? Help!!!

Iain

PS, I should have said the the computer is running XP Home with SP3.
