Outlook connector for Domino default delivery location

Hi,

I am using the Notes Connector for Outlook 2003 in order to read my
mail in a Domino server via Outlook.

This is working fine, but I would like to have 'native' Outlook
calendar, but the Connector always tries to access the Domino calendar.

I have tried several things, like changing the default delivery
location for the Lotus Notes account to a personal folder, but with
this solution the incoming mails still arrive to the Lotus Notes
account, and since now Notes is not the default delivery location,
desktop notifications do not show when new mails arrive. I have tried
to use a rule to move the mails from the Notes account to the personal
folder, but rules for incoming mails do not work. I suspect this is due
to the default location for new mail not being the Notes account, but a
personal folder.

Does anybody know a workaround for this or another way to achive what I
want to do?

Thanks,
Fran

No, both Calendar and pop-up notifications only work for the default
delivery location. Any reason why you would not use the Calendar from Notes?

The reason is that the Domino connector always tries to download each
and every entry in the notes calendar. If I connect to the server via a
slow connection, that takes a very long time until the connector starts
to read the e-mail messages stored in the server, because first it has
to download all the appointments.

Hi Fran,

I'm not too familiar with the Notes connector but doesn't it cache the
mailbox so that with a resync it only retrieves the new/modified entries?

Does it help when you rename the cache file (probably .ost) to .old? Note
that the add-in is supported by Microsoft and that they just love the
feedback on this. You might want to call them for additional support.

The cache file that the domino connector uses is *.nst. I have tried to
rename it, but Outlook still behaves the same way.

Thanks for your help, but I do not know the number I should call. I
work for a company, and I am not at the IT department. As the corporate
mail client is Lotus Notes, I do not think they will bother to contact
Microsoft regarding this issue.

Regards,

Fran
