Outlook attachment crash

Hi

One of our machines has just developed some strange problems with Outlook
2007:

1. When we click the add attachment button in an email it brings up the
"browse for file" window, and then crashes before you have a chance to do
anything else.
2. This also happens if we try to save an attachment from an email.
3. Around the same time the Search has stopped working in Outlook - just
gives the message: "Instant Search encountered a problem while trying to
display search results. Modifying your query may resolve this problem." Don't
know if this is related to the attachment problem.

We can still drag & drop attachments from/to explorer/email windows, but
just not use the Add Attachment button, or the right click "save as"
shortcuts.

About the time it stopped working, I had saved a number of contacts from
Outlook on another machine and then imported them into this version of
Outlook. As far as I know this was all that we changed about anything. We may
have run Microsoft Update about this time, but we can't remember if this was
before or after the problem appeared, as it was a few weeks ago.

We have removed all plug ins, unistalled Google DS, rebuilt the PST
(SCANPST.exe), moved the file and tried it with a clean .PST file and totally
re-installed Outlook and uninstalled Zone Alarm. None of which has helped.

We'd be very grateful if anyone knows how to sort this out.

Thank you

We've searched the internet to no avail - we'd be very grateful if someone
could tell us where to ask for help in this forum.
