Outlook and AOL

Hi

I have Outlook 2003 running on a Dell Dimension 4550 with
XP Home and all the latest updates according to the
Microsoft website. I have AOL as my ISP. There is now a
way to run Outlook with IMAP and access your AOL mails.
This has been working fine. Now, this morning, I have
received some E-mails, but not others (no pattern to
this.) Also, the mails I have sent have appeared to leave
my PC (ie appeared in the Sent Items folder in Outlook)
but most have not appeared at their destination. AOL have
said there is no problem there and I can send E-mails
from within AOL itself but Outlook, whenever there is
something to send, ie that goes into the Outbox, an error
appears

'Task 'imap.uk.aol.com - Sending' reported error
(0x800CCC0F) : The connection to the server was
interrupted.' etc. If there is nothing to send, then the
Send/Receive cycle goes ahead quite happily.

Please help!!
Cheers, Candyman

Yes - McAfee but I have tried disabling that - it still
doesn't work. Now it does the same thing whether there is
something in the Outbox or not.

Please help - PC about to go out of window!!!

did you turn it off in the mcafee program or disable it in services? (or
exit the service) - see control panel, admin, services.

Did you check your Spam folder? Did the senders receive errors?

Do you see them in the Sent Mail folder using the AOL software?

I've checked the spam folder - nothing. I cannot confirm
whether they received errors as my only contact is
through E-mail with one of them.
Do you see them in the Sent Mail folder using the AOL
software?
No, I don't. It appears that when the mails go into the
Sent Items box in Outlook, they do not then appear in the
Sent Items within AOL - that was even the case when it
was working.

Are you using your AOL email account with Outlook, or a third-party
account? What server settings are you using?
