Outlook ADRESS bOOK....

Hi All ---
I need some help with Outlook Address Book...
I was looking into OU online help and found the followings
given at the bottom... You can get there by typing in "
Personal Address Book " in OU Online Help. And then
choose "About the Address Book"

The Last line shows >>>>. ""Contacts in the Contacts
folder that include an entry in the E-mail field or one of
the fax phone number fields automatically appear in the
Outlook Address Book""

But I can't get the contacts in the Outlook Address Book
even though I have E-mail entry and Fax ph # in the
Contact in the Contacts folder..
Then if you want to add entry in the Outlook Address Book
then you get " You can'nt create entries for this Address
Book"

So what's really going on here...????

Thanks In advance

Jaxy.....

There can be several types of address books in the Address
Book dialog box including the Global Address List,
Personal Address Book, and Outlook Address Book. Select
these address books in the Show names from the box.
Contacts in the Contacts folder that include an entry in
the E-mail field or one of the fax phone number fields
automatically appear in the Outlook Address Book. Learn
about specifying which address book appears first.

You probably haven't configured the Outlook Address Book correctly. Post
your Outlook version if you need help.

Russ,

If you are wondering whether I'm using Corporate or
Workgroup..
then I'm using Corporate mode...

Thanks
Jaxy.....

In that case you'll need to provide your mail support mode, too. Outlook
2000 comes in two completely different versions. Line 2 of Help | About if
you don't know.

Go to Tools > Services. Make sure the Outlook Address Book service is
listed. If not, add it. Next, R click on the Contact folder or folders you
want the OAB to display, choose "Properties", go to the Outlook Address Book
tab and check the "Show this folder as an E-mail address book" box. You may
also need to go to Tools > Options > Addressing Tab and choose to show your
Contacts folder.

Russ ...

I have everything configured the way you described it, and
i have done this so many times before...
But I was looking for the following ..

" When you have e-mail entry in the E-mail field for a
contact in the Contacts folder according to Online help
you should have that entry IN OAB ( outLook Address Book)
but I am not getting that...."

If you skim thru the online help portion that I posted on
the 1st post it says what it should be done...but it's not
happening....

Thanks..........
Jaxy....
