I have Outlook 97 on my PC. When I receive e-mails that
are in a web page (html) format, they show as a text
message along with an icon to click to show the web page.
Sometimes there are also gif and jpg icons showing as well.

When I click on the web icon, I see the web page, but the
gifs and jpgs do not load.

How can I set my Outlook to open my messages in html
format automatically? Do I need to download a patch or
upgrade to do this?

Outlook 97 does not support HTML - you'll need to upgrade to a newer
version.

Hi Diane,
Thanks so much for your reply. It saved me a lot of
trouble struggling to get it to work. I appreciate it.
