I read that Outlook 97/98 is an unsupported configuration for Exchange 2003,
but does it work and does anyone run this configuration - i have legacy user
systems were i can't migrate the Outlook version at the moment but wish to
complete my exchange 2003 migration. Before i migrate them to OWA any
suggestions
or confirmation

cheers

OL97 was so buggy I haven't used it in a gazillion years. I don't know of
any reason why you couldn't use it or 98 to access Exchange 2003 mailboxes,
though. If you do have problems, OWA would be a good alternative.

Well, I have OL 97 on a laptop at home and I've used it to access the
Exchange 2003 server at work without problems. Just make sure you apply all
current service packs and hotfixes to the server. I have seen reports of
problems if you access the same mailbox using both Outlook 2003 and earlier
Outlooks.
