Outlook 2k3 using word as email editor (Vista SP1 OS) numbered iss

User has a machine with Vista SP1 and Office 2003 Pro SP3.
He uses Word as his email editor in Outlook.
When composing an email and he selects a numbered or bulleted paragraph,
manually or the system automatically sets numbering as such, an error message
comes up about a problem and Word is closing. Word and Outlook then close.

Anyone seen this before? Is there a fix?

Not using Word as his email editor isn't an option becuase he wants the
grammar and spell checking of Word.

Does the same thing happen when using Word by itself to create a document?

Yes it does the same directly in Word.

Yes it does the same directly in Word.

Then clearly it's not an Outlook problem and you should be asking in the Word
newsgroups.
