Using Word as email editor

I recently installed Office 2007 Home Edition. I'm still using Outlook 2003
and it will not let me use Microsoft Word as my email editor now. (I assume
because I'm using Word 2007, even though Word 2003 is still on my computer.)

This is a minor annoyance because it will not do automatic spell checking
without Word as the email editor, which I rely on heavily.

Is there a way around this?

Is there a way around this?
Other than uninstalling Word 2007 or installing Outlook 2007; nope.
