I have lost my send/receive button in outlook 2003. I even tried deleting
outlook and reinstalling but my send/receive button is still missing.

Dear,
Pls do the following:
Start Outlook.
From the Tools menu, select Customize.
Select the Commands tab.
From the Category list, select Tools.
From the Commands list, select Send/Receive.
Drag Send/Receive to your Outlook toolbar.
Click the Close button.

Do you still have a valid account configured in Outlook? Note that
reinstalling Outlook doesn't help with configuration issues only corrupt
installation files.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunatly, there is no send/receive in the
command list as you describe. I have a feeling that Outlook is corrupted. I
have already tried deleting Outlook 2003 and reinstalled it. Should I try
uninstalling Office and then reinstal? Could there be a problem with my
account configuation?

thanks for your help,

Cyberbru

As far as I can tell I do have a valid account in Outlook. I even tried
removing the account then adding it again which didn't work. One point of
interest is that when I first start Outlook I see the send/receive button.
However, within 1 to 2 seconds the button dissappears. I did manage to get a
screen print of the page with the send/receive button there before it
dissappeared. What do you suggest?

Deleting the OST file should correct the problem. First close Outlook. The
OST should be located in C:\Documents and Settings\username\local
settings\application data\Microsoft\Outlook. Reopen Outlook. The ost file
will be recreated. The Send/Receive button should reappear.

Thanks for the reply. I deleted the OST file. Unfortunatly, when reopening
Outlook the ost file was not created and the send/receive button did not
return. Do you have any other suggestions?
