Outlook 2007 (Vista) fails to open on screen

Win Vista Ultimate SP1
Office Outlook 2007 client to Exchange

This just happened.

1. When I click on outlook, I get the wait circle but the opening panel does
not show. In task manager processes, Outlook .exe shows loaded with 2,768K
memory.

2. If I repeat the "click" on outlook, the task manager shows multiple
running Outlook.exe. I can kill each process in task manager.

3. If I click outlook now, I get the panel that says outlook failed to start
correctlty last time, open in safe mode. I say yes and outlook.exe shows up
in task manager but not on the desktop screen. I then kill that process.

4. I then click outlook again and get teh Detect and Repair panel
(outlook.exe in task manager). I say yes and it completes successfully. Now
the outlook.exe is gone from task manager.

5. I then click on outlook and it appears in the task manager but no window
on the desktop.

How do I get outlook to appear so I can get my mail?

I have another PC with outlook 2007 client to exchange and it works just fine.

Did you try office diagnostics? You can run it from any office program
provided outlook was installed as part of a suite.

Diane,

I fixed the problem but did not know what caused it.

When I tried to un-install Office 2007 to re-install (try to correct error),
it failed to un-install. I then went to KB and found detailed process to
manually un-install. That worked.

I re-installed Office 2007 and it failed to open outlook agin from the fresh
load. This only happened on the VISTA PC. I could open outlook 2007 and my
account from anohter VISTA machine on the LAN.

I de-joined the domain and re-joined as another account for this VISTA PC
and it now works. Someting in the AD account was wrong.
