Ever since i installed Outlook 2007 and i have the application open it uses
50% of my CPU (i have a Duel Core processor so Outlook's probably only able
to access one of the processors). I thought maybe this was the indexing but
it's been running for almost 24hrs like that now
Any suggestions?

If you are running any add-ins or a virus scanner that integrates with
Outlook disable this integration.

Got rid of the generic ones that were installed when Outlook2007 installed
itself but that didn't seem to achieve anything

no virus scanning software and disabled all the add-ins and its still
chugging away at the CPU

Have you applied Beta 2 Technical Refresh?
