Outlook 2007 spam filter with hotmail contacts

I have managed to get hotmail workiing with Outllok 2007 Pro, including
syncronising e-maill addresses.

However, although the "Junk e-mail options" allows me to select "also trust
e-mail from my Contacts", Outlook does not seem to recognise the hotmail
contacts folder as contacts.

Please advise what I need to do to tell Outlook to use my hotmail contacts
folder as the contact folder.

Many thanks
Andrew

Unless you are paying for Hotmail Premium and using Outlook Live, you won't
be able to do that.

I have "an old" hotmail accout, and Outlook has synced contacts from hotmail.
Hotmail contacts appears in Outlook contacts as in a hotmail contacts folder.

How do I configure outlook to use this hotmail contact folder as the default
outlook contact folder, so that the Junk Mail filter uses these e-mail
addresses as "authorised e-mail addresses"?

Can I also tell outlook to open my hotmail inbox folder by default, rather
than the ofline inbox folder, which is emprty?

Many thanks
Andrew

Possibly with the Outlook Connector beta, if you convert your old Hotmail to
a WIndows Live account.

Yes, Connector installed and working - when I look at the Server Status, it
tells me that there is a coneection to Mail and Contacts, but not calender,
which is as expected, as I have not paid for subscription.

What's the issue then? You sound like you have everything that's available
with a non-premium account. With a non-premium account, your Hotmail
folders can't be the default folders.

Currently I can
- syncronise all e-mail and e-mail folders between hotmail and Outlook 2007
- acceess Hotmail contacts with Outlook 2007, although I thought this was
only possible with a premium account. Outllok does not accept these hotmail
contacts as "safe sender" for Junk mail filtering
- hotmail calender is not available through Outlook, as expected

Since I only managed to get the conector working on second instalation and
the fact that no one has been able to confirm to me that I will be able to
make the hotmail contacts folder list the default folders list, once the
hotmal account is premium, I have not paid this subscription.

Please can you confirm that I will be able to make the hotmail contacts
folder the Outlook 2007 default contacts folder (which in turn will allow
Outllok to recognise these email address for Junk e-mail filtering, and
general contacts functionality).

Many thanks
Andrew

Why not contact MSN and ask them? I looked at
http://join.msn.com/premium/overview and I don't see mention of "Outlook
Live" any more, as described here: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/mool.htm
, but that page does describe downloading from http://g.msn.com/0CR1033/3 an
Outlook Connector that's compatible with Outlook 2007. With the Outlook
Connector, Outlook should work in a fashion similar to Outlook connected to
an Exchange server and allow you to specify the MSN folders as your default
folders.

To set your hotmail contacts as the default contact list when sending email
in Outlook using the Outlook Connector:

- From Outlook, click on the Tools menu and select "Address Book..."
- In the Address Book window, click the Tools menu and select "Options..."
- Select your hotmail contacts in the "Show this address list first:" dropdown
