outlook 2007 really slow

I have installed fresh copy of Outlook 2007. I am using my POP account. When
I open Outlook it takes lots of time before I can really do some productive
things like opening email, or composing new. What is it doing initially.
When I had Outlook 2003, when opened within few secs it was stable to
use....

Anyway to have quick start up....

Robert I applied the patch you just suggested and it looks better than what
used to be earlier. Thanks.
