Outlook 2007 opens slow

I have a pritty fast system running Windows 7 Untimate 64 and outlook 2007
opens realy slow. I do have a large PST. How can i get it to open faster?
Some times it does and some times its realy slow.

How large is the PST? Unless it's multiple gigabytes in size, it shouldn't
slow Outlook down.

True but in outlook express or windows mail it never took this long to open.
And Outlook opens up fast some times and some times slow.

Outlook Express and Windows Mail never open a PST file. On the other
hand is there any kind of anti-virus add-in interfering with Outlook?

I understand that about OE and WM but i just thought Outlook could handel it.
Im running Free AVG right now and i know there is a Icon for AVG in my
outlook tool bar. Mayne ill try to change that as long as it still scanns
incomming mail.

Removing the "A-V add-in" is commonly suggested here due to the fact
that is doesn't provide any additional protection, but does mess over
the ability of Outlook to properly transmit and receive e-mail.
