Outlook 2007 pst file issues

Outlook 2007 is opening CONTINUOUSLY with the message "data file not closed
properly - Outlook will work slower while repairing the file" - this is
occurring 100% of the time - but program continues to run (I guess, slower) -
any suggestions on what could be corrupted? and if so - how to fix it.
Thanks.

For all of you who are getting this error message, try this:

Open "Search" from the start menue in Windows Vista.
Click the Advanced button in the search window that comes up.
Check the box to show hidden files.
In the name box at the top, type "scanpst.exe" without the quotes.
When the file shows in the main window, double click it to open.
Another window will open, and in that one type the full path to your
Outlook.pst file.
Click the Repair button, and in a few minutes you should get a message that
the file has been repaired.

If you do not know the path to the .pst file, do a search for it, again
checking the box to show hidden files. When it comes up, just right click
the file and choose "Properties". A window will pop up with the full path
listed at the bottom.
Hope this helps.
