Outlook 2007 - Outlook has stopped working

P

proud2bhaole

Hi

Am running windows vista home premium with office 2007 professional installed.

About a month or two ago, I've noticed that whenever I close outlook, i get
an error message:

"outlook has stopped working"

Everything seems to work fine otherwise, but this is a little annoying and
I'm wondering if there's any way to either fix the problem or turn the error
warning off.

Thanks
Kevin

Milly/Kevin,

Any answer/response/solution to this problem yet? I've got the same problem
now occurring for over six weeks. Ran Office Diags several times without
incident. Cleaned and checked PST files using scanpst.exe. Re-installed
Outlook 2007. Disabled all add-ins & coms. Scanned hard disk for errors.

Vista Home Premium SP1 w/ Outllook 2007 Professional with all the latest &
greatest updates.

I *do* notice that when Outlook retrieves my email from my POP servers (I've
got 9 accounts) that my system comes to a crawl and I pretty much can't do
anything until after Outlook ends the send/receive process.

Any insight into this problem would be greatly appreciated.

I just started having the same problem with Outlook and Vista despite all the
latest updates. It started yesterday after downloading the PayPal plugin
update. I don't know if that's related. Outlook 2007 opens; I open
messages; but as soon as I click enter it stops working.

OK. I uninstalled the PayPal update and rebooted, and now Outlook is no
longer crashing. Thanks!

It's nice to hear that there's a solution for users who have installed the
PayPal update or plugin. It's still ocurring for me and what's REALLY
pleasant is every morning when I restart Outlook, it spends 10-15 minutes
repairing the database which seems to take a toll on my response time.

I am having a similar issue. I used to be very annoyed that I needed to run
scanpst once a week to get my Outlook 2007 on Vista Home Edition working.
Now I can't even get into Outlook at the start with the "Microsoft Office
Outlook has stopped working. A problem Caused the program to stop working,"
then somthing about I will be notified of a solution. I have a few critical
attachments I need access to. Any ideas on how to extract the attachments
without going into outlook?

And just HOW is this a "similar issue"? The OPs problem was caused by a
Paypal addin. If you do NOT have a Paypal addin then your problem is NOT a
"similar issue". If that is the case then make a NEW post, detailing ALL the
symptoms, with your OS and Outlook version, including all service pack
details and anything you have tried to alleviate the problem. If you DO have
a Paypal addin then uninstall and report back with the results.

Ditto!
Vista Ultimate.
Outlook 2007.
No PayPal.
Attempted scorched-earch repair - restored factory image and reinstalled
everything.
All windows/office updates (re) applied as of today.
Full hardware diganostics successful.
Office diagnostics sucessful.
Outlook still stopping as before.
Sucks!
