Outlook 2007: Not refreshing Inbox

J

I get notification that new messages have arrived. I can read them from the
message alert dialog -- but looking at Inbox where it displays all the
messages, they are not there. The Inbox item under Favorite Folders shows
that there are x new messages: Ie Inbox (3)

The new messages don't display until I click on another view (Sent Items for
example, from Favorite Folders) then reselect Inbox.

Is this a known issue?

Too, I have installed the performance update btw. Even so, its still a very
slow response from Outlook and BCM. Painful.

Sorry you didn't get any better replies than this one, Joe ... all I can say
is, I'm experiencing exactly the same situation; you're not alone. Why it's
happening, and how to fix it ... no clue.

Thanks Bill - I have to say, I'm certainly not impressed with the problems
encountered in OL07. The speed alone is enough to have me converting back
to US Mail service. I think they over bloated this release.

I got this problem in Outlook and first I tried all solutions I found on
forums:
- renaming some files from Outlook directory if Outlook was installed as an
upgrade from Outlook 2003 -> this was not my case because I installed it from
scratch
- disabling antivirus -> this was neither my case because at this time I did
not have any anti-virus installed yet
- disabling add-in from Outlook (especially Google Desktop Search) -> I did
not have Google add-in but I disabled all other add-ins and still did not fix
my problem
The last thing I did was re-running the Office setup and chosing Repair as
option. Now I got back the automatic refresh of new messages in Inbox and the
notifications. However, I saw some remarks on forums that repair did not fix
their problem. Anyway in my case it worked.
