Outlook 2007 MAJOR Crash

J

Jim H

Hi all,
My Outlook 2007 crashed last week in that when opening it I got the
following message (not exact as it no longer shows this)
"Cannot find server, contact your system administrator if the problem
persists"
I tried everything to fix,
• Updated files
• SP2
• Virus scans
• Repair option
• System Recover option (Windows XP)
I finally ended up removing and reinstalling all of Office 2007 which has
cleared up the server issue, but now I have no emails, contacts, calendar or
anything.
I also cannot seem to find any of the files.
Outlook still acknowledges my email settings for EarthLink, but will not
download any emails.
Any help that can be provided is appreciated,
Jim

Your outlook data is contained within a *.pst file, a hidden file possibly
named outlook.pst
Search for *.pst the largest one, probably named as above will be your old
data file
Use the Mail Applet in the Control Panel, with Outlook closed, to configure
a new Profile, add this data File & set up the mail account & test the
account
