I thought the point of this discussion group is to provide feedback to
Microsoft on their new beta product. How do we give them feedback?

RTM???
So is Microsoft aware of this problem w/Outlook 2007?
Patrick Schmid said:It shouldn't be slow...Sorry, the only thing I can suggest is to wait
until RTM.

Thanks Patrick. I'm back and I see others have picked up this thread.
To answer your last q, my pst file is 1.0GB.
I, too, tried safe mode. No difference.
I turned off my AVG email scanner.
I also have the microsoft search desktop add-in.
Outlook 2007 has operated this slowly from the beginning.
I do have the latest technical release installed.
OUtlook as it is is essentially unuseable because if you have alot of mail
coming and going all day, you can't afford all of the downtime waiting for
the mail to load into your machine. I ewven changed the setting to
automatically get mail to 10 minutes, whereas I have always heretofore had it
set at 5 minutes.
Not only does Outlook freeze when receiving and sending mail, but the length
of time it takes to send or receive a mail seems much longer.
When I asked earlier was Microsoft aware of this problem, I assumed they
must be because as I read through this discussion group, there are a tom of
people who are complaining about the same issue.

If you disable the iTunes add-in, does it get any better?
How big is your PST?

I have two POP3 accounts I'm using in Outlook. I have a single rule
running which copies messages with a particular subject line to the
Junk E-mail folder. I have all default security settings. I do not run
any antivirus software that impacts Outlook. I run AVG on my PC but
have turned it off to see if it would help this problem. It hasn't made
a difference. I have a couple of Add-ins - the Windows Search Email
Indexer, iTunes Outlook Addin (I have no idea what it is) and other
than that, just the defaults.
Thanks for anything you can suggest to remedy this!

I should have specified that I already tried that and it made no
difference. It still hangs while email is being sent or received.
