Outlook 2007 Inbox only shows # in folder and not the message itse

I have to click out of Inbox and go back in for a message to show up. The
Inbox folder always shows a number of received messages, but I just don't get
any display when they're received. Can't find what's causing this. Thanks.

I don't have Exchange Server but tried it anyway. It worked once and then
stopped so I deleted the registry change I had made. What's odd is that we
bought 5 computers and mine is the only one affected. Frustrating...
