We are facing a wiered issue when we use outlook 2007 in cached mode along
with outlook configured to deliver mails to .pst file directly.

The issues is use gets a duplicate email.

When checked through OWA on copy still resides on the inbox and the
duplicate mails keeps coming till the mail struck in Mailbox through OWA.

This is affecting more users so please help urgently.

There are no rules configured
We dont need any alernative solution, just want to fix this issue
If this configuration is not supported please provide me the supported link
for the same so that we can convey the user that it is not supported.

Does the same issue happen when the default delivery location is the
Exchange mailbox?

No it does not happen when the delivery location is changed to mailbox (i.e
OST)

What I suspect is when the mails are delivered to mailbox it Syncs with OST,
as soon as it hits .ost file the mails are moved to .pst as the configuration
is to deliver to .pst but the server does not seems to be deleting copy of
the message, since the mails are moved to .pst the server thinks the .ost
does not have the mail and it try to sync the same email which will again
move to .pst when the sync is completed.. so the loops goes on unless some
one logs into OWA and deletes the original copy of the email.

I never read anything about this configuration in any of the Microsoft site
or internet forum, I dont know if any one uses this kind of configuration, I
read one users post mentioning the same problem but none answered his query,

Appriciate if you can help us on this, I dont need an alerante solution like
removing cached mode or having the configuration change to deliver mails to
Mailbox

All I wanted to know is if this configuration supported by Microsoft, If yes
why the issues is or is there any fix for this which I am not aware of ?

You can very well replicate this issue if you have lab, just enable cached
mode and make your delivery set to .pst send sume bulk email and you can
watch the fun of mails duplicating, keep all the sync setting default, no
need to change anything.

Unfortunately I would be one those that don't run the configuration you
describe. Considering that when running in cached mode does isolate Outlook
from network/exchange server interruptions, why can't the end user just keep
the deliver location to the OST and just use secondary pst file(s) for
whatever it is they are using them for?

Other than that, can you confirm that the user is running Office/Outlook
2007 SP1? The reason that I ask is that if they are, I will try to
duplicate and if I can, ask other MVPs (and/or possible Microsoft) if they
have seen this before.
